Torchbearer Award
The Torchbearer Award is the highest youth award given by Farmers Union. Since the 1930’s, the Torchbearer Ceremony has marked the conclusion of a Farmers Union young person’s work in the Youth Program and the commencement of his/her participation in adult Farmers Union activities.
Torchbearer Pledge
“I accept responsibility as a Torchbearer of the Farmers Union and I pledge myself to bear that torch with clean hands and a courageous heart. I unite with my fellow Seniors in a pledge to work unceasingly for the cooperative movement—to practice tolerance and brotherhood—to keep my Torch ever one of those which shall light the way to a warless world.”
