MFU Renewable Energy Working Sessions
MFU hosts Renewable Energy Working Sessions around the state each year to hear what members think about renewable energy and also learn how we can better format this program for your needs. These feature experts on renewable energy, legislators and MFU staff, with tours of farms that have renewable energy operations. We collaborate with organizations such as the Citizens Utility Board, Minnesota Clean Energy Resource Teams, Clean Energy Economy Minnesota, Minnesota Center for Energy and Environment, local energy cooperatives and more.

Solar Array
MFU has a 36 kW solar system installed on the office roof in St. Paul. We are offsetting our energy usage with the solar panels and also are at times selling energy back to Xcel Energy.
MFU Solar Field Days
MFU hosts Solar and Wind Field Days as part of the Renewable Energy Program on farms throughout Minnesota. At these events we invite the farmer to talk about their experience with distributed generation, the installer to talk more about the project, as well as local renewable energy professionals. These events are open to the public and we try to feature different types of systems for members to learn more about all the different options with solar or wind.
If you have distributed generation on your house or farm and would like to host a field day, please contact MFU Programming Director Michelle Medina at michelle@mfu.org. MFU will organize the event, send out postcards, promote the event and bring all materials necessary.
