Minnesota Farmers Union is the legislative voice for family farmers, ranchers and rural residents in St. Paul and Washington, D.C. Our comprehensive policy is developed by the grassroots efforts of our members, culminating with policy debate at the annual MFU conventions. We cover issues from buffer strips to health care to rural broadband and more.
There are opportunities throughout the year to advocate for policy issues, including Lobby Day Drive-In at the Minnesota Capitol and the National Farmers Union Legislative Fly-In in D.C. All members are strongly encouraged to participate in these events, with more information available at www.mfu.org/lobbying.
During Minnesota’s legislative sessions, Government Relations Director Thom Petersen is at the Capitol each day working with legislators on behalf of MFU members. He writes weekly email and blog updates during session. If you would like to subscribe to these legislative updates from Thom, contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
