Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) works to protect and enhance the economic interests and quality of life of family farmers and ranchers and rural communities.
How do we do this?
We are at the State Capitol in St. Paul every day during legislative sessions, testifying on behalf of our members. We fly into Washington, D.C. every year to talk with members of Congress.
We invest in new cooperatives, like 40 Square Cooperative Solutions.
We hold several weeks of Farmers Union Leadership Camp every summer for youth ages 8-18 and day camps around the state as well, where children learn about agriculture and cooperative principles, and spend time outside making lasting friendships.
Our Minnesota Cooks program celebrates our state’s family farmers and the value brought to them by local foods-minded chefs and restaurants who work tirelessly to provide delicious farm-fresh food on their menus. We do this with an annual recipe calendar and a program at the Minnesota State Fair.
MFU is a non-profit organization supported by members. We also have a strong insurance component, Farmers Union Insurance Agency, that provides for the insurance needs of farmers and rural residents.
Our grassroots, member-driven policy reflects the needs of family farmers and rural residents across Minnesota. A membership with Minnesota Farmers Union is a platform for you to make your voice heard. No matter what’s going on in the political sphere, MFU will keep its roots deep in the soil of what we stand for.
